yesterday was labour day in singapore? i didn't even know. did old soon juan hold a rally again? i hope he did. sucks to have holidays falling on saturdays.

anyway, yeah the radiohead concert was cancelled cos thom had some throat infection. so i didn't get to hear it on radio. but triple j was pretty efficient about things and they played about half an hour of their set from glastonbury last year i think and another acoustic set recorded in the bbc. the acoustic session was fantastic. just thom and jonny. so in the end, i did just spend the night in my room with the door closed listening to radiohead.

well, i'm way behind on schoolwork. and the school server that hosts the recorded lectures (that i have been missing) is down. so i can't do anything about it.

i've been busy sorting out sounds and music for the main play i'm involved in. sitting by the stereo searching for and playing assorted sound effects while the rest are rehearsing. it's quite a chore finding the right sounds like the right dog howl or rustling leaves or bullshit like that. anyone out there got any sounds or music that might be suitable please give a shout out to me. the play is "Gertrude - The Cry" by howard barker. it's quite jacobean and it's pretty dark and really emotional. and it's got sex and breast sucking and cock sucking in it. so if anyone's got any ideas or suggestions for music, that would be cool. so far, i'm trying to incorporate some radiohead, sigur ros and depeche mode in it. well actually just a sample from depeche mode.

yeah so that's it for now.

yes it has been pretty long hasn't it.

but well i didn't have anything interesting to say. which means i didn't really do anything interesting. but that doesn't mean i've been a hard worker in school either. i think i'm slacking off quite a bit.

things are getting hectic. i seem to be getting involved with more and more theatre productions. but i'm gonna try not to be part of the one that's coming up that's being put on by the university dramatic society. it's their take on smurfs which they call 'smerfs'. i gotta get my nose back into my books.

anyway i recently hijacked my flatmate, mindy's, mini fm receiver after i found out that the local radio station, triple j, is going to be broadcasting the entire radiohead concert from melbourne tonight. ok, you're thinking, a shitty little receiver. what's the fun in that. but when i hook it up to my subwoofer and speakers, baby it's like a hifi system.

in just a few days, i've heard the get up kids, countless oz acts, the new pj harvey single and a thom yorke interview. ahhh and tonight i'll be chillin' out to a whole live radiohead concert straight from melbourne. yeah, oz radio is definitely a million times better than radio back home.

do you hear that cong? radiohead and pj harvey. and every other act you've always wanted to see. eat it sucka. i'll tell polly you said hi.

the dvd and the blue album deluxe aint out yet. but a friend helped me check out the prices. the blue album deluxe is 44 dollars while the dvd is 35 dollars. and that's in oz dollars.

i am so going to have to cut down on my spending after i get my hands on those two.

if you go to the weezer site, you get to download or view clips of rivers and matt sharp playing together at one of matt sharp's campus gigs. it's a hella significant performance in the history of =w=. and from there you can get to matt's page where you get two more clips. nothing like seeing them two together and hearing those falsettoes again. no offence to scott shriner but matt was an original weezer. as one of the more vocal audience members hollered out in one of the clips, "matt and rivers. the way it should be."

i just finished my essay on pulp fiction last night. and i hate it. ugh.

should i rewrite should i rewrite should i rewrite.

yeah i don't have anything much to say up here but i thought i'd say something about schoolwork since everyone seems to be posting up stuff about schoolwork anyway.

well that's all, time for lunch. and more mulling over my essay.

due to violent protestation, i will now state that all the recipes for the stuff i talked about in the previous entry were obtained from wanyu. but next week i might be making some cookies with a friend who has this recipe. so that'll probably be my first try at a recipe that wasn't gotten from wanyu. also my first time trying to make cookies. so it might suck. but my hope is good.

see how lah hor.

oh and nothing really interesting happened this week. it just got hot and cold and hot and cold. i had more theatre rehearsals. i went to a stage lighting course. oh wait. something happened mid-week. but it's probably not very wise to put it up here. ask me about it and i'll tell you in private maybe.

that's all. get out of here.

oh oh and the weezer dvd and blue album deluxe edition isn't out in oz yet. so that's a little disappointing. will try looking for it again in a week or so.

ok you can get out now.

well another weekend passed. it wasn't as exciting and happening as the previous two. but still it was good. the weather's been going mad and its 41 degrees today. the heat is crazy. thank god for air-con in the flat. makes me not want to leave the flat to go to school. but of course i still went. but you can bet your life i made my way back to the flat as quickly as i could. i made pancakes which were more like crepes on sunday morning with an orangey-mango sauce with banana in it and i made brownies in the afternoon.

and this is what it looks like. the smiley face wasn't on purpose. the eyeholes were just holes i made to see if it's done and the mouth. well the brownie just cracked that way. see that darker centre part of the slice. that's all sticky gooey chewy while the outer covering is hard and crisp. needless to say, it was fantastic. those who have tasted my brownies before will know. it's almost all gone by now. saving a bit for some others. but i'm nicking bits of it from the fridge every now and then. how could i resist. ha.

well that's all for now.
